“This place was a great find! The moment we walked in, we gave a sigh of relief, followed by a chirp of pleasure! The rooms were immaculate. The decor was pleasant and modern and uncluttered, and the overall feel was at once bright and airy yet comfortable, and cozy. The setting itself was lovely. - a grassy patch for garden chairs was encircled by trees with a view of one of the mountains. Birds filled the trees and turkeys and deer wandered through the yard. I am apt to get up in the small hours of the night so a few times I went outdoors to listen to the owls and to view the star-filled sky. Because there is no ambient light those stars twinkled and winked in their full glory. (The nights are also very quiet with little if any background noise.) The location itself was great for us - we did lots of exploring both north and south of the ferry and found Procter to be in about the centre of our hiking trips. Our host was pleasant, agreeable and extremely helpful and seemed to go out of her way to be accommodating and assist us and provide information. Our inquiries were always responded to promptly and courteously. We loved this place!”

We love to cook and maybe you do too! The kitchen is fully outfitted with pots and pans, dishes, cutlery, as well as a Nutri-bullet, hand held mixer, pantry basics, and fridge, freezer, 4-burner induction stove, dishwasher.

Procter Creek borders the property for over 1 km. The creek is heard as refreshing, calming presence from the suite. Out-and-back trails wander through the lower, gentle grades of the forest. For the fit and experienced hiker, a steep hike is possible to visit the waterfalls on the property - historically a destination for weekend visitors from Nelson, who from 1898 and for 60 years, would take day trips to Procter on the passenger-carrying steamers S.S. Moyie, S.S. Kuskanook and S.S. Nasookin.

12 acres retreat is a sustainability vision. The property features an on-site hydro system that powers the estate year-round; pristine, mountain sourced drinking water and ecologically-based forest management. It is adjacent to Crown forest land and the Harrop Procter Community Forest.
Our current endeavour is fire smarting the property, so you may even see some felled trees that will be milled at the Harrop-Procter Forest Products Mill!
12 acres retreat is also home to many wildlife species, and white-tailed deer, wild turkeys, herons, osprey and eagles and other wildfire are observed regularly in the yard and throughout the grounds.

We use all-natural cleaning and personal products at 12 acres retreat. Soap, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and other bathroom essentials are provided. Luxury towels, Venmar automatic circulation, heated floors, a wall mounted convection heater, and hair dryer make this a comfortable and warm space for personal care.
